| When Jesus said "Follow
me," he excluded no one. In the Gospels we meet many
of the ordinary, imperfect, average men and women who first
responded to Jesus. He called them all to become holy as God
is holy.
There are not two kinds in the Christian life. One for "fully
convicted" and another for "partially convicted"
disciples. Christ calls all of us without exception to the
fullness of loving Him. "Whoever claims to live in Him
must walk as Jesus did." 1 John 2:6
"But whoever keeps His Word, truly the love of God is
perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him."
1 John 2:5
As we travel down the path of discipleship, it's important
that we realize that the goal is to have God's love "perfected
in us." Perfect love asks us to imitate the unconditional
love God showed us when He freely gave us the gift of Jesus.
We imitate that love in our lives by walking in the Light
and Obeying Him!
Won't you let Him bring you beyond being "decent"
and "ordinary" to the level of Holy as He is?
