Youth4Him Chat Instructions
  1. When Chat Applet Window opens, click LOGON.
  2. In the NICKNAME: field, type a nickname you'd like to use in the chat room. You cannot leave this field blank.
  3. In the REAL NAME: field, you may type either your initials, first name, or another nickname. DO NOT TYPE YOUR REAL FULL NAME! This chat applet is used for other applications requiring this information, but it is not required in the Youth4Him Chat Rooms. You cannot leave this field blank.
  4. DO NOT enter anything into the PASSWORD: field, it is not required for Youth4Him Chat Rooms.
  5. After both fields are entered, press OK. This will log you into the Youth4Him Chat System.
  6. Use the mouse to highlight which chat room you would like to enter.
  7. Press ENTER ROOM to enter the room you've chosen. Please adhere to the Youth4Him Chat Guidelines.
  8. A new dialog box will open, showing the room. On the right is a listing of people in the room by their nicknames. On the upper left is the chat message area. On the lower left is the area where you will type your chat messages. You may check the box at the top left if you would like a beep for each new message.
  9. To begin chatting, type your message in the ENTER MESSAGE box and click SEND. This will send your message. Continue with these steps for the duration or your session.
  10. When you have finished your session, click LEAVE ROOM. This will close the chat dialog box and take you back to the main Chat Applet Window.
  11. If you would like to enter another room, do so by following steps 6-10.
  12. If you would like to stop chatting and close the Chat Applet Window, do so by clicking on the ACTION MENU at the top left of the Window. Click on EXIT. This will close the Chat Applet Window and take you back to the Youth4Him site. NOTE: The "X" on the window will not close the Chat Applet Window.
  13. If you would like to stop chatting, but leave the Chat Applet Window open for an easy return, do so by minimizing it using the "-" button in the upper right corner.
  14. Good luck and have fun! Remember, don't give out personal information in the Youth4Him Chat Rooms! If someone is harassing you, leave the chat room and notify Youth4Him.
